Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Hiring now for CNA Class starting 10/30/24.    DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position exists in the County skilled nursing facilities and involves the performance of non-technical tasks involving the routine care of residents and providing such indirect or non-nursing services are not required to be performed by a Licensed Practical or Registered Professional Nurse. Work is subject to general supervision, except activities concerned with actual care of residents, which are performed under direct supervision by the registered nurse in charge. Does related work as required.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certified by the New York State Department of Health as a Residential Health Care Facilities Nurses Aide, or Certified Nurse Aide, or
 
2. A student in a school of nursing approved by the Commissioner of Education who has successfully completed at least two full semesters and/or 90 contact hours of basic medical/surgical nursing and who shall complete the clinical and written nurse aide competency evaluation/or a graduate of nursing program, waiting results of licensing exam.
 
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to lift and support the body weight of a resident with the prescribed number of assisting devices.
