To celebrate the unique habitats of the Genesee Valley and the birds that these habitats support, the Humphrey Nature Center at Letchworth State Park and the Genesee County Park & Forest Interpretive Center will hold the first Genesee Valley Birding Cup! Help us highlight the diversity of birdlife in the Genesee Valley. Gather a team of friends or work alone to count as many birds as possible within the Genesee River Watershed in just 24 hours. Travel anywhere you'd like; birders may visit any public space within the Genesee River Watershed. All are welcome — whether you are a beginner or a pro! A final tally and potluck celebration will be held at the Genesee County Park & Forest Interpretive Center at 6pm on Saturday, May 18. The team or individual that counts the most bird species will win a prize. Please bring a dish to pass and your birding highlights from the day!
