Travis Prinzi Presents Folk Music: Roots & Revival featuring Fables & Fools and Old World Warblers
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, a revival of folk music began, leading to the rediscovery of songs long forgotten and the writing of songs we’re still singing today. Two of the Greater Rochester area’s premier folk music groups, The Old World Warblers and Fables & Fools, come together to celebrate this legacy of music. Reaching back as far as the 1800s up into the 1960s, these two bands will reach back to songs whose authors are unknown, songs from the early 20th century sung by the likes of Lead Belly, Woody Guthrie, Elizabeth Cotton, and Pete Seeger, and up into the folk revival with Bob Dylan, Dave Von Ronk, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, and many, many others.
Old World Warblers is a string band trio that features exceptional singing and harmonies, strong dance-able rhythms, and outstanding lead instrumentation. You can find their original and cover music on Bandcamp, and you can find out more and follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
Fables & Fools is the conglomeration of two bands – The Travis Prinzi Band and Rusty Kettle. Drawing on roots Americana and Irish music, they sing and play original music and covers all around the Finger Lakes and Rochester area. You can learn more about them at FablesandFools.com and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
